Interview
A couple day ago, I got a chance to make an interview with a Greek citizen. She is one of my English classmate.
I showed her a storyline of my project. She helped me to correct about the Greek's culture and how to make it a better story.
This following are the information I got from that day :
Q : After I told you about my original story, what wrong about this story from actual Greek culture. Are there any particular things need to be edited?
A : Ok! Firstly, I have to tell you about the Greek 12 gods. Nowadays, almost people don't believe in them anymore. Just only a few people still believe. Greek people in the past before Jesus Christ era used to have a strong faith with this 12 gods, but now we all know it's a myth. When we talked about the god, we means the Jesus Christ. Almost people have his pictures or illustrations in their houses. However, people who know the 12 gods is a myth are still respect this 12 gods. So, for many Greek people, 'GODs' mean both the Jesus Christ and 12 Greek gods or whoever they believe.
I like the way you made a conflict of the a story. When the boy who not believe in God, but he want to join the Olympic game, then he failed and his mom blamed him maybe because he doesn't respect the gods. It's reasonable for Greek people. In the past, one reason that Olympic game were held is to celebrate the god. So people who participated in have to be a perfect choice. They have to be a strong, healthy, clever and gods-believing person. That is why the boy who want to join Olympic game, yet have no faith failed.
Q :I put 6 of Greek gods that I like in the story. There are Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Venus, Cupid and Apollo. Do you think this is the right choice for a story.
A : I agree with you for every gods you chose except Cupid. I think he is not in 12 gods myth. You may be look into this link :http://www.webgreece.gr/greekmythology/olympiangods/. I recommend you to change another one instead Cupid. It maybes Hera or Hermes. And you can change a name 'Vunus' to 'Aphordite'.
Q : What happen normally for people who don't believe in this myth and what's happen if you tear God's picture?
A : I don't think nothing will happen to people who not believe in 12 gods nowadays. But about the offensive action to the god like tear his picture maybe make others angry or frightened. People have freedom to choose what they like to believe. Someone may think good things will happen to people who have faith and the bad things will happen to people who not.
Q : What time period this story should be?
A : It could be a present time when most people don't believe in this myth. I could happen to a conservative family who still believe in them and it makes sense that their kid is arrogant about the gods.
Q : What the place of gods should be?
A : It must be an Olympia mountain where people believed the god living many thousand years ago. When the boy is kidnapped to the other world, he should go to an Olympia mountain.

Finally I picked up the story named "Alex! Do you believe?"
The original of this story base on my screenplay of a play which my high-school class perform 6 years ago.
